In June 2018, 67 553 passenger cars were newly registered, up 69.4 percent from June last year. This large increase is mainly due to the new Bonus Malus system that will change the vehicle tax from 1 July 2018.  In July 2018, 13 798 passenger cars were newly registered, down 47.3 percent from July last year. The large decrease is a consequence of the all-time high in new registrations in June, which in turn is due to the Bonus Malus system that were implemented on 1 July 2018.  Statistical news, Registered vehicles.

The years 2002–2005 is not included in this time series as the vehicle register does not contain information of the second type of fuel, why hybrid vehicles can´t be properly reported.
