The average age of Cape Verde's population has been around 27 years, from 2012 to 2014, reaching the average value of 28 years in 2015, and a slight increase (28.3) in 2016. At county level, (26.2 years), while Ribeira Grande de Santo Antão has the highest (32.9 years)
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is an indicator that is designed to measure changes over time in the prices of a set of goods and services considered as representative of the resident population consumption structure in Cape Verde. The CPI is not, therefore, an indicator of price levels registered between different periods but rather an indicator of its range. The consumption structure of the current series of the CPI (2007 = 100) as well as the goods and services which are the indicator of the basket were extrapolated based on the Survey of expenses and revenue Families conducted between October 2001 and October 2002.

In the age structure of the population, it is verified that, in 2016, the number of people from 0 to 14 years old was 153,975 (29.0% of the total resident population). The group aged 15-24 had 102,475 (19.2% of the total) and the 25 to 64 year old group was estimated at 245,732 (46.3%). In relation to the elderly (people aged 65 or over), the estimated value for 2016 is around 29,057 individuals (5.5% of the total) -Table 2.3 -.
With regard to the structure of the population, by sex, it is observed that the weight of the female population was higher in those years than in the male population, except for the years 2015 and 2016 (Table 2.3).

According to INE data on population projections from 2010 to 2030, the population of Cape Verde in the period 2012-2016 grew at a rate of 1.23%. In 2016, it was estimated that 531,239 people were resident, with an increase of 6,406 inhabitantss, em relação ao ano 2015

In 2016, the immigrant population born outside the national territory, living in Cape Verde, was 17,899 people, representing 3.4% of the population. The population of foreign nationality constitutes about 2% of the resident population. In the islands of Boa Vista and Sal, this proportion is 12% and 5%, respectively.

The statistics on Governance, Peace and Security (GPS) come from the compilation of administrative statistics on justice and security from the Ministry of Internal Administration, the Superior Council for the Judiciary and the Superior Council of the Public Prosecutor's Office, and the survey of families with based on the GPS module incorporated in the IMC, whose objectives are to gather information to diagnose globally the state of peace and security in the country, and to contribute relevant information for the improvement of the actions of the rulers with respect to the prevention and management of conflicts, transparency and control of corruption, and capture the nature and level of participation of citizens.

The Survey of Guest Movements in Hotel Establishments allows the production and dissemination of annual and quarterly information, based on the Annual Inventory of Hotel Establishments (number of establishments, number of beds, number of rooms and hotel capacity) and Survey of Guest Movements ( number of tourist arrivals and nights spent by country of residence, occupancy rate, average stay, etc.) that give the dimension of supply and demand.

The Transition Rate shows the percentage of students who have moved from elementary to high school. The data in table 4.10 indicate that, in general terms, about 89% of pupils passed from primary to secondary school in the 2015/2016 school year. The lowest rate was registered in the municipality of São Salvador do Mundo (63.1%) and, conversely, Boa Vista (96.4%) obtained the highest transition rate between these two levels of education, in comparison with other in the same school year.
