http://www.iata.org/publications/economics/Pages/index.aspx#4Data on how the air passenger industry has performed in terms of traffic and utilization. Indicators: RPK - Revenue Passenger Kilometers, also called Passenger Kilometers performed (PKP). One revenue passenger-kilometre means that one passenger is carried on one kilometre; ASK - Available Seat Kilometers. One available seat-kilometre means that one seat is flown on one kilometre; PLF - Passenger Load Factor. It means revenue passenger-kilometers expressed as a percentage of the available seat-kilometers; % YoY -% change Year on Year (month of current year vs the same month of the previous year); % YTD YoY -% change Year on Year (year to date of current year vs the same year to date of the previous year); % MoM-% change Month on Month (current month vs previous month); Percentage point difference MoM - percentage point difference between load factors of two months; Percentage point difference YoY - percentage point difference between load factors of two years. Note: the seven domestic passenger markets for which broken down data are available account for 30% of global total RPKs and approximately 82% of total domestic RPKs. The total industry and regional growth rates are based on a constant sample of airlines combining reported data and estimates for missing observations. Airline traffic is allocated according to the region in which the carrier is registered; it should not be considered as regional traffic.
